Last night I stayed up late to listen to DumbAss Jason Mesnick (AKA The Bachelor) try to defend his asshole moves on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I don't have much to say about that. He's a douchebag and I hope he gets what he deserves. I can't believe I wasted so much of my life watching that garbage. Anyway, on to my point. New Kids on the Block (you know, NKOTB) were also on the show last night. Here's a video in case you missed it:
The sheer horror of watching grown white men do synchronized dancing reminded me that I have always been repulsed by these NKOTB. In fact, I once got into a MAJOR disagreement with a few of my teammates on my traveling softball team (actually, I made them cry) because I told them how much NKOTB sucked. Last night I got to thinking: there is no middle ground here. You either love (and always have loved) NKOTB or you loathe (and always have loathed) them. I'm pretty sure that I can't really be close to anyone who is a lover of the NKOTB. It's sort of like cats for me. I don't like cats. I don't mesh with "cat people". I always have a little "aha" moment when I realize that some person whom I don't connect with declares their love of cats. We just don't click and we never will. So prove me right, dear friends, and tell me that you all are haters of the NKOTB. Don't let me down.

OMG Danielle, you are so funny. You already know that I hate cats. But I had no idea you hated NKOTB as much as I do. In my opinion, the only white man allowed to dance is Justin Timberlake. And only because he surrounds himself with brothers and sisters who can really dance and perform. Anyway, the rest of the updates are hysterical...glad you are enjoying church. :)
xo Gid
At the risk of our friendship, I guess I should admit that Shannon did buy me the NKOTB Greatest Hits for Xmas this year.
Oh Danielle, I used to love the NKOTB. However, you have to love me anyway because I am your cousin;)
Agreed.
Yes, Hilary begged for the CD for her b-day in the fall, no one got it for her, so yes, I bought it for her for Xmas.
Now, I hate to bust your theory bubble, but I'd have to say I do in fact stand on middle ground here.
I absolutely agree that these men should never be dancing around like this (I HATE boy bands...don't even care for...gasp...Justin Timberlake) and these boys-turned-men have NO business attempting to rekindle a career that ended almost 20 years ago. I have never heard any new songs of theirs, assuming they do sing some new shit?? HOWEVER...they will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart from the days of NKOTB posters on the wall...right in between Paula Abdul and Tiffany...and "The Right Stuff" blasting from my boombox.=)
Shan & Hil, you get a pass because you were too young at the time to realize just how horrible they were :)) BUT, if you tell me that you are going to the reunion tour, we will have to renegotiate the terms of our friendship.
Well, Danielle, rest assured, you and I can still be friends. I hate NKOTB now and hated them way back when, when will they go away??? I agree with the first person that said JT is the only white guy allowed to boogie, he rules. :)
