We're Making Progress

Vinny is now 18 months and still only has a few words that make sense to us. He speaks his own language very clearly and with much passion. We just have no idea what he is saying :) This is so different for me. While I know I shouldn't compare, the girls (esp Emma) were motormouths by this age. I should just be thankful that he hasn't learned "why?" yet :) He knows Mama, Dada, Emma, Ava, ball, ba, more and "muh" for Murphy but is reluctant to use them regularly (Well, except for Murphy and I'm still bitter about that). His preferred form of communication remains to be the caveman grunt. And then there's this...

Yes, my son will answer a direct question from Dora but looks at me like I have four heads when I ask him anything. A couple days after this video was taken, he added "backpack" to his word list. He answers all of Dora's questions with "map" and will repeat "backpack" when Dora says it. Also of note is his dislike of Diego. He actually stomps and shakes his head in protest when Diego comes on. He only has eyes for Dora.
